Throwback Wedding Post: 2017, Tyson & Taylor at Postlewaits Country Weddings, Canby Oregon

Recently, Taylor contacted me to let me know that her computer hard drive had crashed and she was hoping that I still had her wedding gallery, a casualty of said crash, on hand. Indeed, I DO archive all of my galleries! This is a service I pay monthly for, as such, this is funded by your support of my business. Taylor isn’t the first (or last) person this has happened to. My friendly advice (whether you are my client or not!):

  1. Hire a photographer who backs up galleries long term. This likely means someone full time who is invested for the long haul and will pay for this service for many many years to come.

  2. Download your gallery to multiple places including a cloud service like dropbox

  3. Print hard copies of all of your photos and store in a cool, dry, fireproof space (like a safe)

  4. Save your images to an external device like a hard drive or USB/memory card

NONE of these one things should be your only method. I recommend a primary saving strategy and two backups.
