Tony & Amanda’s Wedding at The Silcox Hut at Timberline Lodge, Mt Hood Oregon

I don’t even know where to begin with what was one of the most enjoyable and memorable weddings I have photographed. I think one of my favorite things about photography and working with people; is unexpectedly meeting new friends. These guys flew all the way from Atlanta, Georgia to get married in the snow on top of my favorite mountain. How could I not adore them?! Please come back and go backpacking with us soon!

We started the adventure a day before the wedding with an Engagement session in the snow in a long satin, forest green gown. Peek at my Instagram to see that stunning shoot! The next day I actually woke up at sunrise and took a snowy little walk around outside so that we could have some full day footage from sunrise to last call. (check out that 1st photo with a Crescent Moon and Mt. Jefferson sitting in the clouds AND the 3rd to last photo which is looking down at the lit up Lodge under the stars) Then had breakfast (the food at Timberline is amazing by the way) and waited to head to the bridal suite to start the main part of photos.

The weather was perfect. Snowy trees, no wind, blue sky but also lightly snowing AT the same time and on the “correct” side of things so that also the mountain was peeking out. Mountain weather is tricky, unpredictable and even scary as you ride up to the hut in a snowcat, right up the side of the mountain. I’ve actually been in a blizzard at the Silcox Hut before (Kelly and Dane, I’m looking at you… haha- that one was a gorgeous favorite as well!) Sometimes everything just lines up really well and I’m here for it!
