Proposing on Mt Hood | Oregon Engagement Photographer
They flew across the country on a little weekend getaway to the Mt. Hood National Forest with a ring in pocket and a plan in mind.
It just so happens that I knew of this plan. The anticipation and planning was so much fun!
When we first chatted, Dean just wanted me to take some sunrise coupleās photos during a weekend trip he had planned to Oregon. He explained that he would be proposing on their first night in town, so the sunrise photos would actually be an engagement session.
So, naturally I invited myself along for the proposal at sunset the night before, offering to help with logistics and to āhide in a bushā which I literally did, to secretly and silently record the moment.
First I had to wait for what felt like an eternity, for these two to walk counter clockwise around the lake and end up on the sandy beach. My plan had been to fly the drone around and spot them from the air (Dean and I had also shared locations ahead of time, which was handy), but alas the mountain weather made it a little too windy to fly until literally the second they emerged from the woods. (and then youāll see what the weather did to us the next day⦠keep going).
The next morning at sunrise, clouds were obscuring Mt Hood but that didnāt stop these two from frolicking around and getting some beautiful engagement photos on the beach of Trillium Lake and in the surrounding forest. I love their carefree attitudes and the fact that they have packed SEVERAL challenging Mt Hood area hikes into their time here.
