Sandy, Oregon Family Portrait Photographer

The best family photos do not look posed, they look like your family on a really good evening. Golden light through the firs, kids mid giggle, a mama actually IN the photos for once. That is what we make together.
I am Becky Chambers, owner of Studio 623 Photography. I have photographed families in Sandy, Oregon and the Mt. Hood area for more than 20 years, and I am also a mom of four, which means no amount of toddler chaos can rattle me. Bring the wiggly ones. We will keep it fun.
Outdoor family sessions are $399. Price depends on group size, please select at booking.
What is an outdoor family session with Studio 623 like?
Relaxed, playful, and quicker than you expect. We meet at golden hour, usually an evening or weekend, and spend 30 to 60 minutes wandering, playing, and gathering everyone for a few classic look at the camera frames along the way. No stiff posing. I prompt, you play, and the real smiles show up on their own.
You receive up to 100 edited, high resolution images with a print release, delivered in a beautiful online gallery. Extended family sessions are welcome and encouraged, from grandparents and cousins to multiple generations.
Where do we take outdoor family photos near Sandy?
Some of the best family photo locations in Oregon are in our backyard. Depending on the season I will point you toward a riverside trail, a golden field outside town, Jonsrud Viewpoint with Mt. Hood floating on the horizon, or a mountain meadow up the corridor. Tell me the feeling you want, mountain, forest, field, or water, and I will match the spot and the light to it.
Prefer indoors? My light and bright loft studio in downtown Sandy is available all year for indoor portraits.
What should our family wear?
Soft, coordinated colors beat matching outfits every time. Think creams, sages, rusts, and denim that look at home in a field. Skip the big logos, dress for the weather, and let the kids wear shoes they can run in. When you book, I send a full what to wear guide so nobody is guessing the night before.
When should we book family photos?
Golden hour, always, so evenings in spring and summer and late afternoons in fall. Fall family photos in the Sandy and Mt Hood area are some of the most beautiful in the Pacific Northwest, and those dates go first. Book your October or November session now before spots fill. Holiday card families: book by early October so your gallery is back in plenty of time.
Why choose Studio 623 for your family photos?
Because 20 plus years of photographing families means I know how to get genuine smiles out of a shy four year old, a teenager who would rather be anywhere else, and a dad who swears he never takes a good photo. He does. I will prove it. You get a calm, experienced guide, a fast fun session, and a gallery your family will actually print.
