Class of 2027 Senior Photos on Mt. Hood | Sandy Oregon Senior Photographer

The class of 2027 is up. Senior photos are one of the few times in life somebody documents exactly who you are right now, the music, the car, the letterman jacket, the boots you wore all summer. I photograph seniors all over Sandy and the Mt. Hood corridor, and no two sessions look alike because no two seniors are alike.

What do senior photos around Sandy, Oregon look like?

They look like you, in the places that already feel like yours. This year I have photographed seniors leaned against aspen trunks in the foothills, standing in front of the grandstand at the stadium, parked on a mountain overlook with the car they spent two years fixing up, and sitting on the tailgate of the family truck at golden hour. Cheer uniforms beside the lilacs, hiking boots on an alpine meadow with the mountain behind. The location matters less than this rule, if it feels like your life, it photographs like your life.

When should the class of 2027 book senior photos?

Summer or early fall of senior year, and early is the whole game. August through October is the sweet spot around here, warm evening light, dry trails, and the mountain still reachable before snow closes the high spots. Yearbook deadlines land in fall for most schools, and the closer we get, the fewer weekends exist. If you want an October session in the fall color, those dates go first.

Where do senior sessions happen near Mt. Hood?

Anywhere we can get to, and a few places most people never think of. Mountain meadows and viewpoints, Trillium Lake, downtown Sandy, the school stadium after hours, your family’s property, or straight off the tailgate of your truck. Bring me an idea and I will tell you honestly whether it will work and what time of day the light is right for it.

What should I bring to a senior session?

Two or three outfits, one dressy, one everyday, one that says something about you. Then bring the things. The jersey, the uniform, the instrument, the car, the dog. Details are the difference between a nice portrait and a photo that is unmistakably yours. If you are not sure whether something is worth bringing, bring it.
