Some of my favorite sessions never leave Sandy. Michelle of Hair by Michelle Myron booked a branding session at Revive Suites, the salon suites building she works out of right on Proctor Boulevard, and we spent a golden summer evening making images that show exactly who she is: warm, welcoming, and seriously good at hair.

What is Revive Suites in Sandy?

Revive Suites is a collection of salon suites and small studios at 38872 Proctor Blvd in downtown Sandy, Oregon. The two story corner building houses independent hair stylists, estheticians, nail and lash artists, and boutiques, each running their own business under one roof. If you have driven through Sandy this summer, you have seen it, the white building with the wraparound balcony dressed in flag bunting.

What happens at a branding session?

A branding session is a portrait session for your business. We photograph you, your space, and the details that make your work yours, so you end up with a deep library of images for your website, booking pages, and social media. For a stylist like Michelle, that means portraits that feel like her, plus frames of the building her clients walk into every appointment.

What was Michelle’s branding session like?

Golden hour in downtown Sandy. Michelle wore a black off the shoulder top with a jewel toned patterned maxi skirt, and we worked our way all around the building, portraits against the brick, laughing frames under the covered walkway, and a set up on the second story balcony overlooking the street with the bunting waving behind her. A butterfly even landed on the railing mid session, which felt like a sign. We finished indoors, where the evening light through the windows made the whole space glow.
